Baby boys all around!

Ada welcomes her new "brother" Luke Christopher to her family while Peyton looks on.

My good friend Suzi delivered last night at 11:45 pm. She pushed for over 4 hours, drug free!!! I'm in awe. She's incredible, as is Luke. I had forgotten how extremely tiny and cute newborns are. I can't believe that was us just 5 short months ago and yet here we have this 20 lb squalking, full of personality "kid". They seemed years apart as we held them side by side today at the hospital but in just a little while, they will be peers, playing together while their Mommies jabber. I'm so happy for them, and Peyton, they will surely be buddies.

After our visit to the hospital, Peyt and I had lunch with my friend Gretchen, her son Colin (2 1/2) and daughter Audra (7 mon.). We went to McDonald's (gasp!) and I had one of those new Asian Chicken salads. Wow. Who knew McD's could pull off low-fat/calorie AND make it taste soooo good! It had edamame in it - yum!! Anyway, it was a fun lunch with good friends. After lunch we went shopping for cute baby boy clothes for the newly born Luke - they didn't know his sex until birth so he is in need of gender specific clothes. I am so very happy to oblige...but failed in my quest. I want to find good deals so I can get them more than just one outfit. Maybe I will have more luck this weekend with Courtney in town.
Peyton had a much better day today but of course we weren't home all day so it was different for him. He was very chatty today and quite sweet though he did insist on being held on my lap during my entire lunch.

I keep watching the news about Steve Irwin. It is so sad to me. I don't know if it's hit a little hard because most of us felt like we knew him or what. He seemed like such a genuine person and a little invincible. I just keep thinking about his baby Bob who will never know his Dad any better than the rest of the world knew him - from outrageous video footage. Very sad.

In other baby news, my friend Stephanie delivered her baby boy this past weekend and named him Jackson, they're calling him Jack. How cute, I personally love that name and it was on my short list for a while before settling on Peyton.

Ada and Maggie are driving me nuts. They are very cute but not when they rough house together and are always under my feet. Right now they are playing rather wildly right around the desk (because I'm here ) which is just a few feet from Peyton's room. I better sign off before they wake him...

On Steve Irwin...
We feel the same way around here. Caed had just picked a new movie of his at the library days before this and the kids had been watching it. We were shocked. Our kids loved his craziness. It is hard to feel that someone so full of life is gone. His son is caedmons age and I just can't imagine-we pray for his family.
