Pregnancy Update and how we had a Saturday in the middle of the week...

Soooo, 37 days to go. I wish it was 3 or 7 but not 37. This week I apparently overdid it while "nesting" and my chronic pregnancy sciatic problem reared it's ugly head to a whole new degree of pain. Yesterday morning I awoke at 3:00 am for my middle of the night pee and could not get out of bed. Not only could I not get OUT of the bed, I could not roll over IN the bed. I was paralyzed by a lightning bolt of nerve pain down my left leg and try as I might to push through it, my body and/or brain would not allow it. Ian offered to help me but I knew even with his help it would hurt like a really bad word so I declined and lay the rest of the night on my back - a late pregnancy "no, no". At 6:00 am when his alarm went off, I was desperate to get up and made sure I caught him before his shower to help me up out of the bed. Once I was up a few minutes I was actually able to walk around and decided to call my Doc's office to see what I could take since I could not fathom taking care of Peyton all day in this "condition". They were very concerned and insisted I did not take care of my child but rather ask my husband to stay home and be Peyton's main care taker for the day. He graciously obliged and after I made all three of us a nice breakfast, we headed into town for an emergency Chiropractic appointment. The good Doc affirmed that indeed I should be in a lot of pain considering how "off" I was. He fixed me up and instructed me to restrict my activity (i.e. do no work) but not rest - soooo, wander my house aimlessly? We decided this was the perfect day to head to IKEA to pick out a dresser to accommodate the fourth person in our house. It was perfect because it was "light" activity and the shopping lifted my spirits greatly. We found a great new dresser for our bedroom, did some shifting and now each member has their very own dresser! I'll post a pic after it is fully assembled - the drawback of Ikea - we have to go back tonight to exchange some faulty parts. On the way home, we were going to stop off at Zach and Suzi's to borrow a car seat for Addison and since Zach was off too, Suzi invited us to stay for lunch. Short story long, my painful early awakening earned my hubby a middle of the week Saturday! It was fun getting to hang with him but I would prefer it be under different circumstances. Today I had a prenatal appt. and all is looking well. My Midwife is concerned about the back/leg problem and so she says she will not let me go but a few days past my due date - Hallelujah! We are down to two names for baby now, both start with an A so we have started calling her "baby A" instead of "#2". That sounds a little better doesn't it? We're planning to see if she comes out looking more like one name instead of the other - if she doesn't I guess we'll just go with our gut and finally find out which name we like best...

Totally agree on waiting to see what the kid looks like before naming her. That's how it was with our little A girl. She was nothing but an Abigail.
