Good news, great news, cute as a button news! (okay, only Ian is going to get that and chant it in his head appropriately but I can't help it, I'm giddy) My surgery has officially been cancelled. I've been having second thoughts this week because I've felt soooo much better since last Friday when a friend of the family who does Bowenwork gave me a treatment. I've noticed significant changes in my ability to function with little to no pain this week so when I went in on Wednesday to my pre-op appointment, I discussed these changes with the Dr. and he thought this was great news and suggested I test my pain levels before making a decision. Wednesday night I went on a 25 minute walk with my family with little to no pain! Feeling emboldened by my successful Wednesday night walk, I dropped off Peyton at a friends house yesterday and Ashtyn and I went to the mall to see if I could do that which I love, shopping. I shopped for 2 1/2 hours completely pain free. This is HUGE people! 3 weeks ago I could barely walk through a parking lot without excruciating pain so this felt like a MAJOR victory. When I got home there was a message from the Neurosurgery dept. telling me they needed to postpone my surgery from Monday to next Friday. I took this as a sign (knowing that in another week I would really be feeling better) and cancelled the surgery altogether. My referral is good for 2 years so if things get bad again, I can always get on the schedule. I cannot tell y'all how happy I am to NOT have to go under the knife for this - I was dreading this experience! And the best part of all is that I CAN SHOP AGAIN!!!! Okay, seriously the best part of all is that my kiddos have their Mommy back! I have to be a little bit careful still so my body can keep healing but I am able to take care of them myself now and that makes me feel really good!
