No it's not his first haircut, nor his second, or even his third. It is however, his first professional "paid for" haircut. Up until now, I have either used the clippers and TRIED to trim around the ears with the scissors or my Mom, a former professional hairdresser, has cut it. It's always quite traumatic and ends with him squirming and screaming, "NO HAIRCUCK, NO CUCK!" Sooo, after my sister Courtney had some success taking Eli to a Great Clips (he was also difficult for my Mom), I decided to give it a try. I've been leary of taking him to a professional because my friends take their kids to those kiddie salons and, while they receive nice haircuts, it cost almost as much as what I pay to have my own hair cut. Great Clips only charges $11 and is fast, fast, fast. I'm talking 5 minutes from the time I put his little behind in the chair to the time we were paying. He wasn't too happy about it, but behaved MUCH better for her than he ever would for me and was rewarded with a blueberry DumDum sucker (it matched his shirt - very strategic and thoughtful move on her part). Here are the pics - the before picture really doesn't show just how badly he needed this cut but trust me, when trying to make him presentable for church yesterday, he looked like a little slicked back Don Juan...

What a "handsome" boy! I love his expression.....the red lips are cute...:-)
He is so cute. Nice looking haircut. I need to take Eli in again. His expression is so serious..."whew, I made it" he must be thinking.
