I was a Farm Chicks vendor!

This last weekend, I loaded up several beloved projects I'd been working on and headed to Spokane, WA to do the Farm Chicks Antiques Show with my sister Courtney. It turned out to be the most exhausting, exciting, affirming, fun weekend ever!!! My friend Gretchen and I drove over in her truck on Thursday night, stopping several times to adjust the tarp and protect all my little treasures. We dropped into bed at midnight exhausted from the drive and were up and at 'em first thing Friday morning to go set up our booth. Friday it rained, not just a little drizzle, it rained HARD! Needless to say, unloading was a chore and once we got everything piled into our tiny 10 x 10 booth space, we were more than overwhelmed. Set up ended up being really fun though and we spent about 5 hours putting everything in it's perfect spot before it was time to head out. One quick look around the building at the other vendors left us feeling quite inadequate though.
Saturday morning we arrived at 8:00 to price everything in our booth before the show opened at 10:00. At about 9:30 I sliced my ring finger open on an antique oscillating fan that was ON...they did not have adequate guards on those things in the old days! Fortunately I did not slice OFF my finger, just maimed it enough to unnerve me. At 10:00 the doors opened and the place was instantly full...people had started lining up outside at 8:00!!! Almost immediately we were slammed. For most of the morning we actually had a line waiting to come into our booth! Neither Courtney or I got to eat lunch until after 2:00 and we were so grateful to have my friend Gretchen and our Mom there to offer back up and run and get us food. They actually had to go and retrieve stuff out of Courtney's house to sell because our inventory was being depleted THAT fast! Saturday night we left tired, but extremely happy. We actually had one lady come tell us that ours was her favorite booth in the whole show! I believe there are approx. 150 vendors so that made us feel pretty good about what we'd done. Sunday morning we arrived early and had to completely reconfigure our booth as several of our larger items had sold and were to be picked up at various points in the day. It was kind of fun to start the day with a different looking space and we were braced and ready for action by 10:00. It ended up being a bit slower but comfortable and a welcome change. We got to see several friends over the weekend and while I don't think either of us made a profit, we definitely recovered some of our costs and had a really great time! Will we do it again? Absolutely! We're Farm Chicks now!

I wanted to look longer while I was there, but got a little overwhelmed. I too thought your booth was one of the best looking ones. Good job girls!
