Not a fan of the grass...

September 27th and 80 degrees! Peyt and I headed outside so he could experience the grass. He wasn't so sure about it - I guess it was itchy on his legs - I never did get a smile out of him.

Not much to report today. Ian came home for lunch again today - we could get used to that! I didn't go anywhere, did pretty mundane things and played with Peyton. I guess some days are just like that. We did have yummy Chicken Chowder with Gnocchi - so yummy and comforting - even in 80 degree weather! So for sometime when you're in a rut and need some comfort in a bowl, here's my semi-homemade recipe:

Chicken Chowder with Gnocchi
32 oz. Chicken or Vegetable broth
16 oz. package of dry potato gnocchi

2 cans Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 chicken breasts cooked and cubed

1/2 t. parsley

1/8 t. garlic powder or to taste

salt and pepper to taste

Heat broth to boiling and stir in gnocchi. Once gnocchi begins to float, add chicken breast cubes and stir in cream of mushroom soup. Add last 3 ingredients and let simmer 5 minutes before serving. Makes 4 servings.
You can also add potatoes or broccoli or substitute ham for the chicken but it is pretty good unfooled around with too...so I'm told.
