Thank God for friends like mine...

This is how my son "napped" yesterday morning. He laid there for an hour and a half "talking" to his mobile animals. It was so cute and he sounded so happy!

Wow, okay, busy, crazy week! After Mom, Court and Eli left on Wednesday I had a day and a half to get ready for Laura to come. I needed the down time as I was quickly developing a monster sore throat! She flew back from her Grandma's funeral in Maui late Thursday night. I drove up, Starbucks in hand, to get her (thankfully Ian had Friday off so I got to sleep in). Friday, Laura and I left the guys at home and headed out for my second trip to Ikea in one week and also for a visit to the Cookie Lee showroom so I could pick up some jewelry. She got to go in as my guest and ended up getting twice as much as she had planned - the new fall stuff is THAT cool. Anyway, my sore throat was turning into a full blown cold by afternoon and I think the only thing I was going on was pure friend adrenaline. We ended up at Safeway on the way home to pick up some dinner and cold medicine for me and low and behold they were having a party at Safeway! There was an oldies band in the video section, food samples all over the store, including Starbucks which gave me enough freebie mini eggnog latte's to equal a 12 oz. Thank you Starbucks! It was pretty fun all things considered but I learned that I make very bad shopping decisions when I'm sick. I picked out a cold medicine that later left me feeling drunk and not in a good way and two of the worst movies I've ever partially seen.

We spent most of Saturday in our jammies (Laura's such a good sympathetic friend, she just went with the flow and laid around with me) before heading south to pick up her vehicle from her Auntie's house. The keys weren't there and I had to leave her there for a couple of hours to wait for them.

Laura headed home on Sunday morning and Ian and Peyt and I spent the entire day lazing around the t.v. watching football game after football game. It was a nice way to spend my last official "sick" day as today was back to normal with me as Peyt's primary parent. I'm glad to be "back" and am feeling much better today. I will get back in my blogging routine, promise.
