"Patience! Young grasshopper"

Here is Peyton standing quite confidently in his plaid (size 24 months) button down that his Tutu gave him for Christmas. It's Osh Gosh which I've determined must run small. As you can see from his Levis that he's had since 6 months, all of his length is in his torso - those little legs haven't grown! I'm kind of glad for that because I looooove him in his Levi's, however, it makes him outgrow onesies and pajamas too fast! See how his lips are pursed? He constantly makes this little motorboat sound where just his bottom lip vibrates - it's really cute but I do not know how he does it - I just can't mimic it at all.

Yesterday there was no time for posting - I de-decorated from Christmas. That is a big job and takes much dedication because it is not even remotely as fun as decorating for Christmas is. Although I do have to say that disassembling the Christmas tree took a fraction of time that putting it together did. My living room and dining room seem so huge now and everything is fresh and clean. There's plenty of room for "young grasshopper" to crawl around.

I made a big pot of Chili and some rice for dinner last night, soooo good. I wish I had written down the amounts of things I threw in - I think it's my best pot yet. That is the problem with how I cook, I never measure and don't use recipes so it is close but never the same. Word to the wise, contrary to what you might read in SOME cookbooks, adding cinnamon to your chili just makes it taste wierd (did that back in November...ick).

Something is up with my camera - every time I take pictures lately there are about 5 at the end that don't come through and the computer says that they are duplicates - WHAT? So I took some darling ones of Peyt and a really cute one of Maggie last night and they are a no show. VERY frustrating! I fear the memory card is going bad - experts, can that happen?

So yesterday I made my downstairs beautiful which resulted in the upstairs looking like a pit so today I am tackling laundry and will try to haul the vacuum upstairs. I feel pressure to get it done today because there is a possibility that we are heading up to Sequim tomorrow to have lunch with a childhood friend of Ian's that currently lives in China but is in town for the holidays. That means I won't have tomorrow to clean and I really like to be able to just chill out on Sundays. It COULD wait for Monday but would probably drive me crazy in the meantime.

I too dedecorated yesterday! It felt so good and yes it does take dedication. You have to haul all your containers out and load 'em and store them again. Of course I forgot a few items hanging around the room after I had put EVERYTHING away. Have a great day!!!!

Yeah, the hauling out to the garage was the hardest part! I tripped on something and almost fell backwards. I must've seen way to many C.S.I. episodes because all I could think after I recovered was how if I HAD fallen and they found me, head shattered on the garage floor, they'd never automatically assume it was a de-decorating accident and Ian would be in some BIG trouble. Yeah, I know, morbid...

A de-decorating accident ... kind of funny the way you put that. I have been dedecorated since New Years Eve! Our tree is beyond dead and still haunts the living room with it's oversized existance.

That child is about the cutest thing on this earth, plaid shirt onesies are merely an adornment; but I am soooo glad I bought size 24 months! Funny that you cooked chili, because that's what we had tonight at Alan's after the game in which Mercer Island defeated their previously undefeated opponents in a gymnasium atmosphere remarkably reminiscent of Ian's high school basketball experience. The team and their parents were at Alan's afterward - a wonderful experience! You three were there with us in spirit, as evidenced by the pots of chili across the miles!
