I could never have just one BFF...

What a fun whirlwind of a weekend! Friday, Mike and Laura arrived into town and we all went out to dinner at The Keg. Laura and I each had a free birthday dinner there so we took advantage of them together. Peyton loved it - he really likes steak (cut up into tiny pieces of course) and baked potato. After dinner, the guys went home to put Peyton to bed and watch Apocalypto and Laura and I headed over to Auburn to meet up with some girlfriends, Gretchen, Karin, and Niki - who was in town for the weekend all the way from Houston. We met up at the Red Robin. It was so fun, we all showed up in coordinated outfits (totally unplanned) and sat our foxy selves down for some sweet treats and a whole lot of catchin' up.

Saturday, we had a nice breakfast and then Mike, Laura and I went to Babies r Us so I could school them in baby gear i.e. help them start their baby registry. That was fun and we ran into Donivan and Kelley and Ethan there. It's always cool when you run into friends out in public because it's such a big town. Later we added Ian and Peyton to the group and took off for Gig Harbor to the Massees for a BBQ with Niki's family and some other local friends. It was so refreshing to get to hang out with "old" friends again. It's just effortless. Gretchen was so great to host too because it afforded me more time to just hang with Niki. Peyton acted a little shy with her at first but did warm up enough to pose for a photo.

This morning, Laura and I ran around and picked up some baby items she found on Craigs list and then took Peyton to the mall before she and Mike headed East. I spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing. It was such a fun weekend but it left me plum tired!

I was pretty tired too, but it was well worth it. What a great time. You were an excellent host. Thanks!
