At the beginning of August I went garage sale-ing and picked up a toddler swing for Peyton. Ian put it up a few weekends ago and as you can see, it delights our little guy. He loves to go out and swing and especially loves when we play little games like pulling his pacifier out of his mouth when he comes at us. It uncorks a roll of belly laughter each time.

Boy vs. Coffee Table update...
Well, the coffee table ended up losing in the end...we replaced it. After the black eye incident, he hit his head approximately 5 more times (all without serious injury or markings but that's besides the point). We
just couldn't sit around and wait for that mean old coffee table to draw blood on this child OR the next so it got kicked to the curb, or the garage, for now. We replaced it with a rather inexpensive faux leather storage ottoman. It looks okay, is comfortable and has lots of padding for soft little heads to hit PLUS it stores a ton of toys - BONUS! It was rather embarrassing taking him around with that shiner but people seemed pretty understanding about the cause and nobody called CPS on us!
Last weekend we went to Peyton's Tutu's house (Grandma) and celebrated all three of his Aunt's (my sis-in-laws) birthdays. It was a lovely afternoon of salmon, burgers, cake and presents. Peyton fit perfectly in Tutu's dining chair and feasted on grapes while the big kids (that's us) chatted around him...
This weekend I get to head off for a girls getaway in Leavenworth. W
e are going to see the Sound of Music LIVE! It is the best show because it's in an outdoor amphitheater up in the mountains surrounding Leavenworth. This is my third time organizing and going with some of my closest friends and family and it should be a really fun time. As for Ian and Peyton, they will be on their own without Momma but I'll stock the fridge and leave them with clean clothes... Peyton has even been working on his own musical theater to keep Daddy entertained...

I'm looking forward to a GREAT week-end....I love the new pics...hugs to all!
Dreaming that if I lived closer I'd be invited to the girl's weekend as well. Hope you had a blast. Hugs.
Oh lady, I can relate to being embarrassed as I hauled my son around with a shiner or two. I'm sure I explained to everyone so they knew I wasn't a child beater!!! I like your soft coffee table...it's only temporary until he's a little older...but wait, maybe it's more permanent since your family is growing...you can put the other coffee table back in like 5 years! Ha ha ha!
