Girls weekend bliss and hairs to miss...

I had a fabulous time in Leavenworth this past weekend. There were 10 ladies that went ranging in age from 6 months to 61 years. We occupied 3 rooms of the
Enzian Inn and took the town by storm; dining, shopping and going to the theater. The Sound of Music was good - for those who had not seen it before it was full of surprises and delights. For those of us third timers, it was slightly disappointing. It's so hard not to compare the diffe
rent casts and my expectations were high. It was still a really fun evening though, mothball smell aside. Ian and Peyton did great at home on their own. They survived the weekend without accident or injury and even seemed to eat okay. We finished off the weekend with a nice casual pizza dinner with our good friends from Reno and their son. It was a refreshing evening for all of us as we caught up on each others lives and talked about the future.

Last night, fed up with Peyton's long hair, we decided to bite the bullet and give him a mullet...just kidding! I took it quite short with the clippers and the results left him looking slightly blonder and definitely cuter. I did several double takes today as he looks so different to me. He was really good for the cut though and happily took a follow up bath to wash all the hair off his bare little back. We joked that the hairy back was possibly a look into the distant future and it gave us both quite a laugh - it's just so hard to imagine your darling baby as a big hairy man...

P.S. for anyone that missed it, here is the video we posted on YouTube last week...
