My fellow Americans
As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor's relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.
I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of claiming Bush's youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.
I would also like to thank the Kennedy's for coming out in support of me. There's a lot of glamor behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr. And Teddy killed a female employee with whom he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his child. And I'm not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively. And I'd like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.
Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement , but because I make people feel good. Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt. I say things that sound meaningful, but don't really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them. Americans are tired of thinking. It's time to shut down the brain, and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember don't think, just do. And do it for me.
Thank You.
Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

Ya..right.....I'm very happy at times like this that I'm still a Canadian and can't vote.
Ugh, so true. This is one of those times when I WISH I was Canadian and couldn't vote. How in the world do you cast a vote when there is no good candidate?
Who wrote that? That is just AWFUL! Why can't people persuade each other with truthful information, rather than political propaganda? I mean, even using his middle name seems intentionally appealing more to people's fears and prejudices than truth. I believe Obama will bring us back to the politics of working together despite our differences, for the good of the people. This is the way it used to be, and modern politics has taken us away from that - I want to get back there. These sensationalized attacks on him are part of the modern politics I pray this country can shake before we implode irretrievably. ~Tutu
Who cares who wrote it...it's all true and we need to KNOW who this inexperienced bloke really is...Karen (That is his middle name.)
Funny, all my cute posts about my kids and hardly a comment but I go a little political and it gets people writing!
I did not write this and I don't know who did, maybe Obama? ;^) I received it via email with a dorky caricature and altered bumper sticker which I left off so as not to offend anyone.
My personal take on the man is that while he may have some good ideals and a nice family, he does not have enough experience to run our Country and I fear he lacks the backbone needed to defend it, among other things.
I don't know what to say about his middle name. It is what it is. Seems like as President he would have to pull it out from time to time so people will just have to get used to it.
Lastly, George W. Bush, John McCain, Hillary Clinton and even Bill Clinton have all had to put up with A LOT of negative "propaganda" over the years. If Obama is going to be President, why should any of that change? Does he suddenly deserve more respect than any other President or Presidential candidate? Just food for thought.
Ditto Nicole.....hey, Erin, this might be of some help in your decision making come Nov. Rather than give you a long drawn out missive, here's the executive summary: Congress: McCain=26 yrs.
Obama=143 days
Military service: McCain=22 years
Obama=0
I just don't see what's so great about BHO anyway. He hasn't said anything I haven't already heard before from past candidates. Being a gifted public speaker doesn't make him a messiah or anything. I'm intensely curious as to what his congressional voting record is - I think I'll make a chart to compare his with McCains and establish a point system. (BTW, that farcical thank you note was passed along by me - a co-worker emailed it to me - so I didn't write it.)
Well, I just registered to vote here in Texas and I plan to do my part come November. I love lively discussions...thanks for the post friend. You got us all fired up.
