Ketchup

It's been a long time so there is lots to report. Where to start...we just started working on the big P - Potty Training...Ashtyn is coming along considerably well...jes kiddin'. I mean PEYTON is doing well with it. He has only peed in his potty once but he is sitting on it daily and is getting more and more comfortable as long as Mommy or Daddy is there to "do the hugging". Speaking of Peyton, or should I say, Peyton is SPEAKING so eloquently these days. Wow, this kid amazes me daily! Not only is his vocabulary growing by the minute but he is forming complete sentences and able to articulate what he wants/needs although he DOES get confused between a want and a need - "Mommmmmy, I NEEEED gum!" I'm really enjoying our conversations of late. He is so funny and we're finding that his sense of humor is very sophisticated.

Today Daddy donned his Carhartts to crawl under the house and Peyton wanted to be just like Dad so I dug out his Carhartts...he also wanted to crawl under the house but that didn't quite happen!

Ian and his "mini me" right before a trip to Ace Hardware together
Now about that other kid...Ashtyn...
what an absolute delight my girl is. She is so sweet and loving. She continues to adore her big brother and just seems to get more relational every day. She loves meal time and is currently working on a big one...chewing. She gets deeply offended if you burst out in laughter or sneeze in her immediate vicinity and she is a champion sitter. This kid has absolutely no interest in moving around. She is quite content to stay in one spot, even on her tummy. I've tried letting her stand to see if she wants to cruise and just bypass crawling but she freaks out. She'll likely change her mind one of these days and get the itch to move but for now, she's staying put. So are her teeth for that matter - under her gums. She has not sprouted one little chomper. She is a biter though so as a nursing mother I do not mind one bit that she is chomper challenged!

Don't recall if I mentioned that Ian found out in late December that he passed the P.E. exam (Professional Engineer). He studied most
of last year for that test and was very relieved to put it behind him. It's a great thing for him professionally and
I am VE
RY proud!

In other news, we listed our house again. While we know it's not a sellers market, it IS a buyers market and we represent both so we decided to throw our hat in the ring and see what happens. We're really happy with our current house EXCEPT
that Ian hates the commute, the property size and we are starting to feel cramped. We'd also really love to be in a better school district before Peyton hits Kindergarten...yes I know that's still a few years away but you've got to take advantage of the market...

Is that enough for today? Mom's been bugging me for a blog so I hope this satisfies...I'm off to make dinner or "ninner" as Peyton still refers to it...Rachel Ray's "Dinner-size Texas Chili Cheese Fries" sounds good doesn't it? Good indeed, and not even close to how naughty it sounds...I'll tell you more about that when I unveil a new blog I'm working on entitled "What I made for dinner last night"...coming soon!

Love the carharts pictures. Jonathan got pants for Christmas and somewhere we have overalls for Jason. I'll have to pull those out soon! Jason is trying to crawl but has currently decided rolling is more fun. Looking forward to your new blog, perhaps you'll inspire me!
