I just think he looks like such a little "Ian" in this picture. This is why I don't like babyish clothes. Grown up clothes miniaturized are so much cuter.Naps have been a struggle lately and so I'm getting to practice all kinds of lulling techniques. I must've done something right tonight because he didn't want to wake up.
We had a looooong day of grocery shopping. I think part of why it seemed so long is that I went on an empty stomach and am really "watching what I eat" aka "dieting" though I loathe calling it that. EVERYTHING looks good when you shop hungry which makes it very hard to stick to a list. We only go every two weeks now on Ian's payday. I plan out our meals for two weeks and then make one big list. We go to Costco and Safeway and for some reason today I just wasn't pushing the cart very fast past all the taster ladies in Costco. Darn you taster ladies! (I was behaved nevertheless) While in Costco I did get a call back from my dear friend Niki who just relocated with her husband and two cuties to Houston where she doesn't know anybody! Can you imagine? You are so brave Niki and continue to be my hero for all the ways you "pioneer".
Courtney and Greg are thinking about making their first home purchase. Court has fallen in love with a cute craftsman in Rockford, which is about 15 minutes southeast of Spokane. I soooo want her to have it. She's wanted a house for a long time and with babe #2 on the way, this would be great timing for them. Hope it's meant to be...
I'm so excited! Ian talked his boss into letting him go to the Western Protective Relay Conference in Spokane this year in October. It's a BIG engineering conference that my old office at WSU plans. I personally worked on it for several years so it's kind of cool that Ian now attends them. That's not the part I'm excited about though. Peyton and I get to go with and it's for almost an entire week! Sooooo, while Ian is sitting through paper after paper about relays n' stuff WE get to go play with Courtney and Eli and Grandma and Lala! AND stay in a really nice hotel for free! Plus I will get to see some old colleagues and show off my cute kid. Way more fun to be on this side of things!

Nicole, you are such an amazing friend. You are the brave one though...traipsing through Costco with all those samples. You should get a girl scout badge for that one. A mom has got to do what a mom has got to do! Love you 4-ever!!
