Peyton had a great time with his Great Grandma tonight. She is in town for Ian's brother Dave's wedding reception. She is staying the night with us along with Ian's Dad and Stepmom. The reception was a lot of fun. Lynne's (Ian's Mom) yard was all lit up by lots of twinkle lights and tiki torches. There was a lot of great food, drink and of course cake. Yes, the cake was a hit as far as I can tell. I'm really glad because halfway through the process I wondered what I had gotten myself into. It was a lot of fun but I am exhausted. I spent the first third of the day making the extra sheetcake, the middle third, traveling up to Seattle and trying to take the bakery/mommy off of me so I could feel cute at the reception and the third, third (hmmm that sounds weird) enjoying the fabulous party. But honestly, these kind of shindigs take a little out of you because it's a lot of socializing with people you either haven't seen in a long time or have never met so it's not exactly like napping which is what I FELT like doing... It was worth it though and Peyton had a great time getting passed around the family and to some people I've never met and finally fell asleep on his Tutu (Ian's Mom). He didn't really wake up from that until we were home and I had changed him into his pajamas. Then he was wide awake and ready to play. We did finally get him back down so now it is off to bed. Ahhhhh, bed.
