This is the wedding cake I made for Dave and Yulya. A little non-traditional, sure, but so are they. I still need to make a large supplemental sheetcake in the morning to make sure we have enough cake for the 50 or so guests that are expected. I met Suzi and Luke at Babies "R" Us today. She had a mile long list of new baby supplies and I needed to check out convertible car seats because Peyton weighs 22 lbs as of this morning and that is the officially listed weight limit on his infant car seat. Me oh my! I swear it was easier to purchase our first house than it is to pick out and commit to buying a car seat for our child! I was still there pondering my choices when Ian got off work so he met us there and then we went to dinner at our favorite Thai place, The East West Cafe. I still had to stop at Safeway on the way home for some last minute cake supplies and much to my delight they just opened a Starbucks in the store so I treated myself to a hot Caramel Macchiato (the greatest drink known to man) while I finished up my shopping. It gave me just the amount of gusto I needed to decorate this cake! It was a good day...
