Happy Birthday Dad!

Peyton really does love his Maggie and it appears from this photo that she is warming up to him as well...

Today is my Dad's 63rd birthday. Anyone that knows him would swear he is not that old. Here's to you Dad for making 63 look so good! And with that, the September birthday rush comes to a close. There are 5 between Ian's and my families all within the first 2 1/2 weeks. Yikes! My sister Chelle also had a birthday in September so that would have brought the grand total up to 6! There's a rule now that no new babies are to be born in September. We need to spread the love throughout the rest of the year. So far, Courtney and I are holding up our end of the bargain...

Today was a great day. Bob & Linda wouldn't let us cook them breakfast and took us along with Grandma out to eat. It was a nice little treat after spending the last two days chained to my kitchen. Ian and I split some delicious blueberry pancakes with chicken apple sausage - the perfect breakfast... After that we came home just in time to catch the Seahawks battle (if you could even call it that) it out with the Arizona Cardinals. Seahawks won of course and we pretty much just spent the day, playing with Peyton and watching football. My fantasy team won again this week. I beat Ian's brother Nathan by quite a lot so it felt extra good! Sorry N8...

Peyton is just 5 days shy of his 6 month birthday so we decided today was the day to feed him some baby food. Not just rice cereal this time, he got PEAS...

Here is the before, looking rather expectant...

And the after. He kept leaning to his left and seemed confused each time I tried to feed him from his right. It was pretty cute and as you can see, he enjoyed peas quite a lot. Next will probably be green beans, yummm. (his bib says "hose me down") What you can't see in this photo is Maggie down to his left, gleefully licking peas off his dainty little fingers - they make quite a team.

It looks like he's saying " OK Mom, I made it through that weird green stuff, now where is the yummy sweet fruit?!
