The only one of us who got any sleep last night enjoying some morning play time in his new play space...the bed.How do I put it nicely? I don't...last night just plain sucked. Ian and I both slept fine until 1:30 when our dear one cried out a cry I have not yet heard. I quickly got up, picked him up an comforted him. He promptly went back to sleep for the whole night but not Mom and Dad, noooo, our battle had only just begun. Suddenly I was very aware that the bed wasn't quite soft enough and that I was on the wrong side of the bed and those elevators - darn those elevators! We were one room away from the elevator shaft that houses three elevators and you could hear them going up and down and stopping on our floor ALL night long!!! I could even hear them OVER the white noise CD we had on for Peyton. Needless to say we both woke up a little grumpy and I never did get any coffee...
I called the front desk to see if we could move rooms and the front desk clerk was, shall we say, a little less than accommodating. Okaaaay, I waited about a half hour and called down again, this time because my coffee maker wasn't working (in my sleep deprived stupor I couldn't seem to figure out that it wasn't plugged in). To my delight a different girl answered and when I told her of our sleep deprived night and those blast elevators, she had much sympathy and promptly got us a new room. I was so delighted and relieved that I didn't even feel annoyed that I had already unpacked our tremendous amount of belongings. I packed them up while Peyton napped and gleefully moved on.
Okay, I have a couple of funny Eli stories but I am so tired so I will add them tomorrow...promise.
