Peyton is modeling the shirt he got from Grandpa Bob and Grandma Linda. It's cute and fuzzy and as you can see, he likes it very much...thank you Grandpa and Grandma! p.s. the hat is cute too!Coming up on New Year's Eve finds me in a reflective mood. It's been a life changing year for us and it's hard to believe it's almost over. We went from a happily married couple to a happy little family in such a short time. Peyton has brought so much MORE joy and laughter to our lives and I am just soooo looking forward to this next year with him as he continues to grow into this little man with so much personality.
We will not spend New Year's Eve alone after all. Donivan and Kelley and little Ethan are going to come over and play games and have dinner. I'm making homemade fried rice and my traditional homemade egg rolls. Yummmmy. These egg rolls are the best I've ever had. A bit of an indulgence I suppose but not only is it N.Y.E. but it's an anniversary of sorts. Yup, Ian proposed to me 7 years ago on N.Y.E. and we partied like it was 1999, um, cuz it was...thanks Prince, for making it extra special by writing a song about it!
Today we are socked in by fog and it's interesting how the weather can affect your behavior. We have been pretty lazy today (although Ian IS running as I write this so maybe it's only affected me. Oh dear.) Okay but he's been lazy the rest of the day and I guess I DID make him pancakes and clean and do laundry and run to the store so I guess my point is ruined except that I did happen to sleep in until 11:30 today (after getting up at 7:30 with P. for an hour) so that must be why I feel lazy. I digress...
I've started making my own baby food. So far I have done sweet potatoes (yams), pears, peaches and carrots. The only food he's gagged on so far is the carrots - everything else has been a hit. I think the carrots are a miss because they are not completely pureed but hey, the kid has got to learn to deal with a little texture eventually so we will keep trying the dreaded carrots. I'm going to get more adventurous this week and make some actual dinner type dishes like spaghetti and such - it's fun and does seem to save some money - the only problem I'm running into is having enough tiny containers to put it in.
Happy New Year's Eve, Eve!!!
