Peyton's favorite new activity

My "Cutey McPeyton" doing his favorite new thing, standing at the coffee table. He is so darn good at it too and as you can see, awfully proud of himself. I'm still recovering from my icky cold, and Ian is getting it so we are a pretty low key household right now. I won't de-Christmas the house until after New Years which we have no plans for. No party invites, nothing. That's just fine with me I suppose, we can just get caught up on some movie watching. We missed so many these last 9 months so it's pretty easy to find good ones we haven't seen in the new release section. Last weekend we rented "The New Adventures of Superman", "The Lake House" and "Poseidon". They were all really good. It's rare that we have that much luck at the video store. I hadn't had any desire to see "The Lake House" when it came to theaters - I thought it looked dumb but after a few friends said how much they liked it I decided to give it a try. I was riveted and reminded why I used to like Sandra Bullock so much. It was definitely a chick flick though. "Poseidon" was just fun to watch and O.M.G. the new kid playing Superman is just plain dreamy...

Look, he can even go one handed! He somehow manages to stay quite steady as he switches hands. I have a feeling he is going to be itching to do the next big thing...dare I say walk? Yikes, Mom's not ready for that! We'll see, he's still got to learn to crawl FORWARD!

Prayer request: My best friend just found out her step Dad has cancer. It's a big blow, he's only 49 and the Docs are not acting very optimistic. She is upset and doing the best she can to anchor her family through this. Please pray for this man's healing and for the family to cooperate and help out through this. Thanks...

re: prayer request. Please let your friend know that I am praying for her and her family. My dad was diagnosed with end stage lung cancer in April and the doctors pretty much told him he's not going to live. I struggled greatly with this and found a support group on line. We also prayed a lot and my dad went thru chemo and radiation all spring/summer/fall and just before Christmas he had a scan done and one tumor that started at 5 cm is now less than 1 cm and may just be scar tissue and the other tumor is gone! He doesn't go back to the doctor for 3 months! Anyway, this situation is near to me and if your friend wants she can write me at mattbeth99@msn.com and I can give her some websites that helped me, or encourage or pray for her or whatever. Either way, I am definetly praying.
