Well the whirlwind week is over, Mom and Dad left today and I have no plans for the remaining days...sigh. Sometimes having nothing planned is good but I sure did enjoy my time with my parents. Peyton started doing so many new things while they were here. He learned to wave bye bye and uses his entire arm to do so. Grandma announced when she arrived that she was going to teach him and she showed him once, yes once, and he learned it. Sooo cute. He is also very into imitating sounds and faces. I tilt my head to the side and he does it back (see picture), I shake my head "no" and he shakes, I stick out my tongue and he mimics and on and on... yesterday on the way to church, we were going through our repertoire with Grandma in the back seat and she started flaring her nostrils and breathing hard and wouldn't you know it, he did it back. We laughed so hard. Now he will randomly tilt his head or shake it "no". It seems like he shakes it at the most opportune times too as if he knows exactly what he's doing. I love my Peyton!
My delightful child at dinner the other night, laughing it up just moments before I took his temp and found he had a fever - always a champ that one!
The Colts won the Superbowl and I was so happy, especially after hearing Tony Dungy's speech afterward. What a cool testament! We had a fun party here with some longtime family friends - Dick and Kandy, Zach, Suzi and Luke and our dear friend Brent who came up from L.A. We ate lots of good food, laughed at a handful of truly funny commercials and played musical chairs as we all tried valiantly to make sure each person got time in one of the "good" seats. Such polite family and friends I have! p.s. for what it's worth, we deemed the Ape's plot for beer commercial to be the best...

Okay, I totally agree that the ape commercial was totally funny. My favorite though that I'm still laughing at is the women stopped in the car with all the shirtless men of all sizes and ages washing their car...I'm laughing now as I think about it.
That's so fun that Peyton is learning so many new tricks.
How did you know to check Peyton's temp if he was all smiles? I hope he's doing ok!
I went to change him and his skin felt really hot (and he was fussy in between those smiles. His fever seems to be gone now but he is still fussy - those darn teeth!
Oh...well, I'm glad he's not sick.
