My own personal stairmaster

Here he is on his first solo trip down the stairs! He diligently practiced at his Grandma Linda's over Thanksgiving and had it mastered by the day we left to come home. He even mastered scooting down on his bottom without anyone teaching him how - sooo cute!

His major fascination, however, was over the Ostrich paintin
g by his Uncle Dave that Linda has hanging in her house. He would gesture at that, greet it with a "hiiiii" and just basically gawk at it all day long. Well, you can certainly understand why, can't you? It's an Ostrich masterpiece!
We arrived home late Friday night and spent the rest of the weekend decorating for Christmas (well I did, Ian needed to work on his book). It took me about 4 hours to assemble and decorate the tree but I am so pleased with the results - instant Christmas atmosphere! Peyton really loves it too. He loves to grab one of the lights and say "ot!" (hot) and he's identified every single animal themed ornament as a "doggie".

What else is the little man up to? He is noticing pictures on the walls now and loves to point out Mommy, Daddy and doggie on the way down the stairs. He's also learned that if he pulls his little car up near a light switch and climbs on top he can turn the lights on and off to his little hearts content. His words are coming clearer and more often now. His favorite words are "baby", "mommy", "daddy", "doggie", "more", "wawa", "hi" and "bye". The phone is still his first love and I just witnessed him holding it up to Maggie's ear to "talk". Seriously.
