In anticipation for our trip to Hawaii in December, we've enrolled Peyton in some swimming lessons. There's a pool at our condo and while I don't expect him to be swimming laps by then, I would like him to have some familiarity with water safety and be comfortable in the pool with some sort of flotation aids. There's a school called KinderSwimmer that is 3 miles from our house and they do small group lessons (max of 5) Today was Peyton's first lesson and there were only two other boys in his class. It was their last day so I guess come this Thursday, Peyton will be the only student which means lots of one on one! I'm really impressed with the program. His teacher was so good with him and I felt he progressed quite a bit in his first lesson (as far as comfort level goes). Here's some pics...He was a little nervous at first and I thought it was going to be a battle but once he got in the water with Kelsie (his teacher) he was fine...

This is the pool, very cute inside...
Walking to the deep end for jumping in...
...waiting to jump in...if you look closely, you can just see the fear and trepidation beginning to sink in...
...jumping off the side, by the last time he jumped, he did it independently - I was so proud! He even did one jump off the diving board (with assistance)

So cute! You are smart to get him water ready, it will make your trip that much more fun! Love his outfit!!!!
Very cute. He did look a little nervous but I'm proud he did so well! He will probably be more comfortable than Eli!
You'll never regret having taken the time for this... Love his swim gear, too.

I know it, besides I looooove watching him in the pool, it is really exciting as a parent to watch your children conquer fears and have success, as if you don't know what that feels like! He's already talking about his lesson today!
That's my boy, ever the fashionable toddler!
Hawaii in December? Very exciting! Which/what island(s)? I lived in Hawaii Kai (on Oahu) in '78-'79. I haven't been back since then and would love to.
